Warwick or Leamington Spa?

Hi, My boyfriend and I are looking to stay in either Leamington or Warwick for a night. We love staying at Inns and exploring traditional pubs. With this in mind, which town would everyone recommend as we only have 1 night?

Do know either well but think Warwick has a bit more to it - bit more 'touristy infrastructure because of the castle - which is well worth a visit

Warwick is better for "traditional" type pubs than Leamington, in my opinion. And the Rose and Crown is a good tip too. We go there for breakfast/coffee and had dinner once, it was fab. Don't know what their rooms are like. The Lazy Cow in Warwick is an upmarket boutique-type hotel with restaurant. We haven't been but plan to at some point.

Hope you have a good time!

Another vote for Warwick, although if you want a lively town with nightclubs Leamington would suit you better. Good traditional pubs are The Zetland in Church Street and The Bowling Green in St Nicholas Church Street. Or you could take a walk down to the Cape of Good Hope on Lower Cape, which is an old-fashioned canalside pub.
