My husband will be in Paris for a few weeks on business. He's trying to pack light, and doesn't want to bring 2-3 weeks worth of clothes. He's wondering if the hotel has a laundry service, as do many American hotels. Of course, he will inquire at his hotel, but we wanted to know if this even a possiblility in Parisian hotel, or totally unheard of?
If no such service exists, are there public laundromats or dry cleaners?
You don't say which hotel, but I have stayed in Paris hotels that offer laundry/dry cleaning. Laundromats and dry cleaners are prevalent all over the city. On Google maps, locate your husbands hotel, then search "pressing" for a nearby laundry service/dry cleaner, or "laverie" for self service laundromat.
There are plenty of places that will wash and iron shirts. The normal price in the outer arrondissements is 2€ per shirt.

There are shops labeled as I recall 'pressing' all over the place that will do laundry bundles, shirts etc as well as dry cleaning -- so if his hotel doesn't, he will still be good to go.

We have sent out laundry through our hotel. Never again. It was shockingly expensive. Your husband should look for a neighborhood cleaner or a laundromat. Most decent hotels will provide an iron and a board on request at no charge.
