Toulouse vs Paris

Hello,

We have a place to stay in Tolouse for three weeks. But since we are leaving for home via Paris (CDG),we were wondering whether we should go early to Paris. Do We need to decide in advance (for Airbnb and flight to Paris) or can we decide after we’ve been in Toulouse a week? Is two weeks enough time to find new lodgings and transport to Paris?

Paris has about 2000 hotels, I believe, so at any time of the year you would be able to find something, but depends how picky you are on that regard. Why do you think you have to have an Airbnb in Paris? There are plenty of hotels. And lots of those rentals are illegal in Paris, don't think those regulations apply in Toulouse, not sure. Some times of the year are more popular than others, also, of course.

You can easily get to Paris from Toulouse by train, also, the tickets just will cost somewhat more if you wait until 2 weeks out to book them, but it can certainly be done. Same with air fare, it's just more expensive at last minute, I'm sure you know. Easyjet flies that route, though, so that's great but right now their fare is about 150 euro a couples weeks out in late afternoon, other times are about 250 euro. But there are some direct TGVs that only cost about 100 euro 2 weeks out, and they only take about 4.5 hours, so I'd do that, not fly.

Sigificant factor is the time of the flight from CDG. You do not want to be travelling all the way from Toulouse with a tight schedule, so maybe arriving in Paris a day early isn't too bad a thing. Then there is the cost issue. Train and plane get more and more expensive the nearer the day of travel you book there is always a risk that if you leave it until the last moment there may be no seats - reservations are compulsory on the trains so they can sell out, especially on weekends in summer.

Given the aggravations of air travel, a 4.5 hour train ride Toulouse city centre to Paris city centre is a better option I think.

As the previous poster says, Paris has thousands of hotels so for a 1 or max 2 night stay there will not be a problem finding somewhere suitable.

I'm not sure whether you think you may run out of things to do in Toulouse after a week, or whether this is related to just your flight from Paris.

Staying in Paris never comes cheap, hotels are expensive compared with many other cities.

You can find apartments through booking.com, it doesn't have to be aibnb. But if only a night or two a hotel will probably be simpler in any case. Or you could look for an aparthotel

accorhotels.com is the website for a large French hotel group with various chains, including Ibis, Mercure and Adagio Aparthotels

Citadines is a chain of aparthotels we have used in the past (in Paris)

. we were recently in an apartment in Angouleme from this chain https:/…paris-1.html
