What Hotel?

Would like to spend 4 days in Tarragona late March.

We need a hotel very close to the railway station.

Any ideas?

If you do book there, ask for a room at the front with a view of the square, rooms at the back look onto a narrow alleyway and building right in front of you!

I also liked Hotel Plaça del Font

But I wouldn't say its "very close to the railway station"

Its within walking distance though ( about a 10 minute walk if I remember right ) .

I'm a bit late to this. I would probably not want to spend 4 days near the railway station, assuming there are any hotels nearby. You've a steep climb to most of the interesting bits of Tarragona and the area is not hugely attractive, because of the railway line. I'd also recommend Hotel Placa de la Font. We're hoping to stay there again in September.

10 minutes walk - maybe - with bags perhaps a little longer, but mainly downhill. We got a taxi. Seem to remember it was €6 or €7.

Tarragona is not that interesting, plus the restaurants are few and far between. Spent 4 days there last October, was about 2 days too many. See the sights, then take the bus to Salou.

Before leaving from Barcelona on a cruise would like 2 or 3 days in a smaller town. Any suggestions on Tarragona, Girona or Sitges? is it fairly easy to get around - non Spanish speaking seniors !

I would recommend Tarragona if you have a couple of days to kill.

Try for a hotel in the old town - very atmospheric.

The old town is very compact, thus very easy to get around.

Have a great time in spain.
