While acknowledging the difference between "immigrants" and "refugees", this recent thread may address your concerns

Another 1 post wonder?
Presumably we need to cancel all holidays in Spain, Greece, Cyprus, France, Germany, Finland and Sweden as well.

"those refugees are in Italy and they are quite free to travel around"
Actually they're not. They go where they are told. That has been part of the problem, refugees being kept places they don't want to be. That has caused some protests by the refugees but nothing that has affected tourists in Alghero and certainly no attacks on tourists.
It's more people who are settled in the various countries who are free to move around and plan and carry out attacks (e.g. Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, London, Nice etc.).
Obviously you never know when and where an attack will happen. But I would be very surprised if there were any kind of terrorist attack in Alghero. You are far more likely to win the lottery than be involved in any kind of terrorrst incident while on your holidays anywhere.
Forget about it and enjoy Alghero.
Wally do you realize how strange your comment seems? Nobody knows if the rapers were italians, italians of african descent, african immigrants who have a job in Italy and a permit to stay, aliens on the run because they have no job or refugees. I guess that if you are so worried specifically about refugees you must know something that everybody else ignores. Including cops and italian newspapers.
More, you seem surprised because these people can exit the refugees centers during the day. Being a refugee is not a crime, it seems to me you expect them to be treated as criminals. Why?
What does this say about you? That you really wanted to point out that they can go everywhere as if it was a danger in itself? This is a rhetoric trick used to raise fears: painting as wrong what's just a trivial fundamental right in western world countries. Neither you, nor the refugees nor italian citizens are subject to a collective responsibility principle.
Finally, do you really think this is the first gang rape ever happened in Italy? Seriously?
Edited: 6 years agoOk you made your point guys. I didnt want to sound offensive. @NapOrsoCapo71 Actually, it turned out those ones from Rimmini were African's refugees, but I also understand that this was blow up by media and i am aware that there were more rape accidents as well.
> it turned out those ones from Rimmini were African's refugees
No, it didn't. Stop.it.
It turned out that 1 of the suspects is a refugee.
The 2 under age brothers that turned in and confessed are legally in Italy and their father, who is under house arrest for petty crimes, till february 2017 had a regular job and a permit to stay. They arrived in Italy years ago and went to an Italian school that expelled them for bullying others. Same for the third minor who didn't go to the police: he has been living regularly in Italy for yers with his family and consistently attends an Italian school.
None of those 3 arrived in italy with the wave of refugees of the last 2 years.
The all story doesn't say anything about refugees, it says that expelling teens from school without taking care leaves them in the hands of the first real criminal they meet.
