Hi again Toñi V,
There's local bus service in both Palermo and Catania.
And the navetta gratuita, the free shuttle service in Palermo.
Palermo Navette Gratuite free shuttle bus map:
Weekly passes are also available.
You would then take the train or SAIS Autolinee between Palermo and Catania.
For the SAIS Autolinee bus service; Tariffa di corsa semplice 13,50€.
Palermo and Catania are Sicily's two largest cities, both transportation hubs offering the best transport options for day trips, but also hot in summer, so you might consider one city, and then a smaller town.
Thanks, Vagabonda. I finally made a tentative plan. I would appreciate if you could help me realice it is too ambitious with two little ones and considering that we would like to use public transportation only. Would this be possible?
We will land and return at/from Palermo and need to stay at Milazzo for 5 days (can do day trips from there). We would like to visit the following places, but we are not sure about the itinerary by bus and how to organise the needed time in each place.
Thanks so much in advance for the input and help! We will be there in less than a month and have not booked accommodation yet!
From Palermo day trio to Agrigento temples.
Then tavel from Milazzo to Palermo airport. Flight takes off at 18:30
We have 14 nights.
Cant figure out a route without a car.
