Food around Hotel Krasnapolsky

Hi folks,

My partner is taking me to Amsterdam for my 30th birthday and has booked a week at the Krasnapolsky hotel on Dam Square. I'd suggested we stay further out of the centre so as to enjoy more of what we like (eating and drinking) without being incredibly touristy (as a tourist, I'm aware of the hypocrisy) but she wanted to make it "special" and so we are where we are!

I fear I already know the answer, but around the area, what restaurants and bars are available to us that don't cater towards tourists (plastic menus translated into English) and won't be full of my countrymen? A few I've already picked out to visit but are mostly located further out, that are tipped to be decent quality are;

Omelegg (omelettes for Brunch)

Burgerlijk (Burger Lunch)

Broodje Bert (Sandwich Lunch)

Lombardo's (Burger Lunch/Dinner)

Bistrot Neuf (Dinner)

Staring at Jacob (Brunch)

Ted's Place (Brunch)

Little Collins (Brunch)

All those places cater to tourists. At the Kras you will be surrounded by hundreds of restaurants, bars, pubs, and cafes and they will all be catering to tourists.

IN my uneducated opinion as far as being a non-foodie you will be surrounded by great to good places to eat. All within a 5-25 min walk.

But trying to avoid Amsterdam tourists when you eat is nuts.

The Kras itself has a great breakfast room, a, good regular restaurant, amd one with a star.

Your list is full,of,often suggested places to eat

Your partner made a great choice as far as where to stay

Actually there’s loads of nice places to eat around there. Not all have plastic menus lol.

You can’t avoid tourist near the Kras. It’s tourist central fgs. There’s a cannibal royale near there. Actually I’m going to that one on Saturday. Normally use the one on my street. Best ribs in the city IMHO.

If you like steak then the Loetje by the station has the best steak in town and a nice terrace on the water. Or take the free ferry to the NSDM and eat at the one there.

Cau around the corner from the Kras is also ok. As you will have gathered I like steak lol.

You can eat from Michelin star to Eurostar around there.

Staring at Jacob, Little Collins, Ted's Place (some of my favorite places) I'd hardly describe as catering to tourists. Nor are they anywhere near Dam Square.
