Since so many people ask about Athens Festival and Hellenic Festival performances during August I thought I would share this news:
A dinner cruise to Epidaurus has just been announced for one performance of A Winter's Tale featuring Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke. This is a terrific opportunity for anyone who will be in Athens or in the Peloponnese on August 22 (there is also a performance on August 21, but no boat from Athens). The boat leaves Zea Marina around 4 pm on August 22, your ticket includes a welcome drink on board, your transportation from the port at Old Epidaurus to the theater at Ancient Epidaurus, your ticket to the performance, transport back to the boat and then dinner and music on board the boat as you return to Zea Marina.
It is a long night, but worth it to so anything in this amazing ancient theater - and especially worth it because you will be attending a production in ENGLISH (I've been there before but the performances were always in either modern or ancient Greek ... this performance will be subtitled in GREEK for the locals :-) Nice touch, I think!
Anyway, more details and links are here:

PS For anyone who wonders, Basil and I had an amazing African adventure - we're sorting through 15,000 photos and will be posting them, along with our trip report and reviews, in the coming weeks - of course, in the Africa forum, not the Greek forum :-)
