Couple of questions regarding eating out

Booked Mikes hotel / apartments for May, my question is will there be enough restaurants for us to eat out in during the fortnight we are there? If not how far is the next busy town? Can we get a bus or taxi? I've read there is a supermarket nearby so snacks etc won't be a problem. TIA

Hi

The next busy town is Chania. Yes there is bus service there, and it is very frequent ...every half an hour.

There is a large SYNKA (former INKA) in Maleme, where you can buy what ever you need. There are a few places to eat something. There are a lot more choices if you vistit Platanias the resort just outside Chania, with plenty of choices of restaurants and bars.

For an idea of restaurants/tavernas in Maleme, see

As gerlion mentions, Platanias contains lots of additional choice, and is a short bus ride east along the coast

Scroll down for this route (and its reverse)....Chania - Stalos - Agia Marina - Platanias - Gerani - Maleme - Tavronitis - Kamissiana - Skoutelonas - Kolymbari Probably takes about 10 minutes.

Hello , Got back from Maleme yesterday I am sorry to say . There is at least 6 or 7 restaurants in Maleme . We would recommend The Black Lantern but our travel rep also recommended Mikes Hotel where you are staying .

We also had a great meal at Small Paradise in Gerani (next village from Maleme) which is about a 30 minute walk from where you are staying , 10 euro in a taxi back.

Plantanius is about ten minutes on the bus and cost 3.5 euros for 2 people and run every 30 mins until about 11pm or 12 euros in a Taxi You will be spoilt for choices for places to eat in Plantanius .
