Does anyone know if you need an International Driving Permit if you hire a car in skiathos??
What driving licence do you have? If it’s an EU licence you don’t need an IDP, there are some other exceptions, but certainly the US, Canada, Australia licence holders do need them.
It's a full British EU driving licence? So I think that must mean we'll be OK?
Yes, you’ll be fine, as long as it’s at least a year old 😁Edited: 09 June 2018, 17:16
If you still have an old paper licence instead of a photocard one you MUST carry your licence together with your passport at all times.
Be aware that after UK leaves EU it is possible an IDP will be required.Edited: 09 June 2018, 18:38

Old paper licence is still valid as per DVLA. Hire companies can choose whether to accept it. The DVLA code is not often asked for but it is NOT a licence & is invalid for hiring on its own without the photocard.
Ignore post #5 which is factually incorrect. The old paper licence is still valid. The DVLA code is not a substitute for a licence.
