travel to Stockholm

Hi, We want to travel from Gudjhem to Stockholm in May. I'm wondering if it is viable to try to do it in 1 day? Given that the ferry is 1.5 hrs and the train is approx. 6 hrs from Ystad to Stockholm. It would make for a long day. Would it be better to stay in Ystad overnight and then catch the train to Stockholm the next day? Many thanks for any advice.

Ystad has a few modest sights.

The only alternative is flying to CPH & then to Stockholm, or flying from Malmö to Stockholm. You wouldn´t save that much time, though.

There is also a night train between Malmö and Stockholm, you can take. Book via www.sj.se

It will be a long day, but since the first ferry is 6:30 you can be in Ystad by 8 and in Stockholm 14:38. Some days there is a ferry at 10:30, it will still be doable. An option could be to have a break for a couple of hours in Malmö or Lund (there are luggage lockers at both stations) to make a break in all your travelling. You need to change trains in Malmö or Lund anyway.
