Copenhagen Central Train Station to Freeport Cruise Terminal

Cruise with Holland America. Assume they leave from Freeport Cruise Terminal. My research indicates to travel from the Centrtal Train Station to the cruise terminal I should take either Red S Bahn A, B or C to Nordhaven (4 stops) and then would have about a 10 minute walk to the cruise terminal or take bus 26 direct to the cruise terminal. Can anyone confirm this.

Thanks, Dozer

There are at least 3 cruise terminals in Copenhagen Freeport. Name of cruise ship and date would be helpful.

Hans, Thanks for the reply. Our trip is on the Holland America Eurodam and is for 12 days going to St Petersburg. Leave on 15 August and return on 27 August Both embarkation and debarkation are Copenhagen.

Eurodam is expected to dock at Oceankaj (Ocean Pier) on 15 August.

Easiest may be to take bus 26 to the pier.

Hans,

Thanks again. You are correct. Oceankaj is the new pier located in Nordhavnen which is further from the city than Freeport pier. The only way to reach it by public transportation from the central train station is bus 26. It runs three times an hour at :03, :23 and :43 and the trip takes about 40 minutes with 23 stops. The bus runs Monday thru Friday. No service on Saturday or Sunday. Various blogs in May have noted the entrance road in single lane in each direction and there are often long ques to reach the pier; thus the travel time may be increased by several minutes. On a weekend it is best to take the red S Bahn A, B or C to Nordhavn Street (4 stops) and then walk about 15 minutes to the pier if an individuals wishes to use public transportation.

Thanks again for you help.

There´s recent information in the media from officials that bus #26 will be going on Saturdays and Sundays in the near future & that extra buses from cruise ships will be organized as well, due to complaints about the lack of sufficient public transport.

But we lack details so far here, and any such novelties haven´t been incorporated in the public transportation website www.rejseplanen.dk yet.

The walk from Nordhavn Station to Oceankaj is approx. 3 km. I doubt you can do that in 15 mins.

For what it's worth, on the May 30 Celebrity cruise from Oceankaj, bus 26 was coming all the way to the cruise terminal and dropping off. I could see it from my balcony. Don't know if this is always true, but it did numerous times that day
