Are Yaktrax or Microspikes needed in March?

Hi! Our family is planning to visit Iceland next March. We will spend a couple of days in Reykjavik and drive 3 days doing the Golden Circle and driving South Iceland.

We plan to visit Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, carter Kerid, Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Reynisfjara Black Sand beach, Foss á Síðu, Skaftafellsjokull Glacier trail, Svartifoss, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and Diamond Beach. I think all of these are very short and easy hikes, please correct me if I'm wrong.

For the snowmobile and ice cave tours I think the tour will provide for special boots and/or equipment. I do not know if the Northern Light tour will provide equipment.

We would really appreciate if someone can recommend if we need to purchase Yaktrax or Microspikes to safely walk on the places we plan to visit or while aurora huntings at night? Thanks.

It might be a good investment. But you can get them here if needed,

For the ice caving and glacier hike they give you ice CRAMPONS that you fit over your own footwear. Such footwear needs to be hiking boots that cover your ankle. Ice crampons cannot be used with sneakers, obviously.....

No equipment is ever provided on simple sightseeing tours.

Concerning the grippers, it is "maybe" useful in March. Probably.

I think it's a good investment to have just in case. The foot paths at the waterfall sights can be very icy and for NL hunts at night you won't see where you are stepping. Constantly worrying about falling or actually falling can impact your enjoyment of the trip and they are not expensive to buy.
