I assume all your accommodation is booked? I would also pre-book the glacier hike, the glacier lagoon boat tour and the RIB tour plus the ferry if you plan to take your car.

It looks like a well planned out itinerary.

The only thing I personally would be wary of is doing the Glymur hike Saturday morning when you need to catch a plane that night. If you run into any weather or car trouble or get in trouble during the hike you risk missing your flight. So personally I would spend the last day exploring Reykjavík or the Reykjanes Peninsula or maybe the Golden Circle. But I guess that depends on your risk threshold.

Enjoy your visit.

You might consider swapping the first and last day. Get your car at the airport, perhaps stop in Reykjavik for a bite to eat, then head the hour north to glymur.. hike and get back in time to check into your accommodations and then head out to explore the city. Leave blue lagoon and exploring the peninsula for the day of departure.. there are enough things to fill the day. You can add arnarkur lava tube to your last day as that’s in the area. It’s self guided and you don’t need to stay long. Wear good hiking boots and gloves. Also you must have good hiking boots for glymur. It’s a pretty robust hike in places, but well worth it. Have fun!!

I would not recommend driving longer distances on your first day if coming off an overnight flight from the US. Driving will require a 100% rested and alert driver to minimize the risk of drifting into oncoming traffic or off the road during a moment of inattention.

In my opinion spending the first day in the city to rest up and acclimatize is a smart choice.
