Help planning a Northern Norway Photo trip!

I was looking for some help if anyone is willing. Me & a friend is planning a photo trip to northern Norway. Mainly looking at Lofoten & Senja. Its looking to be a difficult trip, Senja is 7ish hour drive from Lofoten, but it seems like Tromso is the best airport to fly into and thats not far from Senja.

Is it worth the 7 hour drive to spend 2-3 days in Senja then head to Lofoten?

Is early/mid September the bst month with decent weather AND Northern lights?

Any advice is appreciated

The driving is the sightseeing and the driving will give you the best photo ops.

September is good for Northern Lights and for doing a road trip without the hassle of snow and ice and little daylight. What the weather would be like, now that would be anybody's guess.

Consider Harstad/Narvik Evenes airport.

Better for what ? Would you like a higer risk of rain/sleet, lower temperatures and less daylight. If so, October is better.
