Siena to Grosseto

Is there a train Siena to Grosetto? Grosetto to Rome? We have 4 nights between cities and looking for a new experience besides churches and paintings of Madonna and Child.

For trains from Siena to Grosseto and from Grosseto to Rome see www.trenitalia.com clicking the UK flag first for English and entering your 'hour' of departure e.g. enter '13' for 13.00.

For the cost of Regional trains (e.g. all trains from Siena to Grosseto, some of which are temporarily Trenitalia buses this week presumably due to track work) use a date this week. The cost does not change as there are no advance reductions and no reserved seats on these trains. The times of Regional trains are not online for dates past December 13.

Siena to Grosseto is MUCH better by direct BUS:

Buses from Siena to Grosseto are at least 15 minutes faster than the trains, and are better if you are leaving from the centre of Siena rather than from an area down by the train station.

However if you have heavy luggage, or if you prefer trains to buses, take the train. It is a very pretty journey either way.
