Hi,
There are 5 of us travelling to minturno by train from Naples. How do we get to the cemetery from the station? Is there a taxi service close by? We speak no Italian so will be taking a phrase book with us! All help appreciated 👍😊

Hi, Please see the attached link....I would send an e-mail to the cemetery, they may be able to assist with taxi information.

My husband and I went to visit his uncle's war grave. The only way to get there from the train station is by taxi. However the taxi's run a 'rip you off service'. Initially on arriving we called a number that was displayed at the taxi rank. It arrived in about 5mins. We asked for a price prior to getting in the taxi and was told that it would be €25 for what is a 8min journey. I refused to pay so we ended up walking for one hour to the site. It was really worth it. On the way back we went in to the hotel next to the cemetery and ordered a taxi. It cost us €10. The money we saved I donated to the war graves commission.
best way to get to war cemertery minturno from santagnello
We went in 2017 5 of us from Royton Lancs stayed in Rome and caught train to Minturno , There is a little station with a small cafe we asked the cafe bloke for a taxi and he just pointed to a taxi stand outside with a phone number on it wouldnt phone one we had to , Braddley managed to call one but a lad screamed up in a old punto and said my dads busy will i do , So all five of us crammed in the punto and set off on a ten minute ride to the cemetery ,he later picked us back up , The cemetery is in the middle of nowhere but like all commonwealth war cemetery is immaculate ,
Hi all,
I’ve just got back from visiting the cemetery in Minturno. It’s well worth the visit, especially if you have a relative who is buried there. We travelled on the train to Minturno-Scauri from Rome, it was about 1hr 50 mins on a direct train and was incredibly easy to do. Once you’re in Minturno the taxi rank is tiny and I imagine there are very few taxi’s ever waiting there so we opted to walk. We timed the walk (which is really easy to do as it’s a straight road)...to about 1hr 10mins at a normal pace.
The road isn’t that busy which is handy since there’s no path at parts. But the cemetery is lovely, well maintained by one of the locals who we met when we were there.
Also, in case you don’t fancy walking back, there’s a hotel right next door which could call a taxi for you as mentioned on one of the previous comments however this wasn’t open for the season when we visited (March).
Train ticket to be purchased if you don’t have a return ticket can be purchased in the shop at the station (not the most welcoming staff though).
Don’t forget to sign the Visitors book at the cemetery
Yes we also found that the staff in the station cafe unfriendly. Which surprised us as it looked like he could do with the custom .
We are visiting Minturno this year taking the train from Rome. We want to go to the center of town - is there anything to see and are there stores and restaurants? We hope to see the war memorial too. Is one day enough?
