Arriving in April 2018 via cruise ship. Want otget from dock to Kinsale. What is the best way to do that?
The first question is which cruise dock.
Most ships stop in Cobh, while some use Ringaskiddy (when Cobh is already full) and smaller ships use the city centre quays.
If it's the last of these, you are in luck. You can just walk to Parnell Place bus station and get a bus down.
If it's either of the other two, your best bet is to rent a car as you need to change bus/train on the way, which makes the journey painful. From Cobh it's about 2 hours by public transport (train to Cork, bus to Kinsale). From Ringaskiddy it is similar time, but you have to use a bus from Ringaskiddy, with much more limited capacity on the bus.
The good news is that you are extremely unlikely to find yourself in Ringaskiddy in April.
Flip a coin between a shore excursion and a local taxi.
