Best experience wineries, breweries, cider and others

Hi everyone. There will be 4 people all 60ish touring through the PEC area. None of us are big connoisseurs of wine or beer, or whatever. But I do love to explore and try new things.

Which wineries/breweries/cider places, cheese, etc, give us the best experience - maybe a tour or two of the facility, tastings that let you have many small tastes (love the "paddle" sample concept) have a great environment, and maybe even some with a bit of air conditioning and a snack. I think one has "fluffy" chickens?

Looking forward to your recommendations. Oh, I like really sweet wines like Mascoto - any chance I will find any.

And just down the road...

Fifth Town Cheese

You can also check the Taste Trail:

Lots of independent producers at the farmers markets in the various towns on the county.

County Cider has the best views in the County, and they do a nice tasting flight!

Hi PHPR: I have been researching like crazy - one of my favourite things to do. Just want some insider first hand opinions about places with a good atmosphere - a bit of education, a bit laid-back, and extra bonuses on top of the alcohol. For example, I believe one winery may have chickens? Another outdoor sculptures?

"Another outdoor sculptures?"

I believe you are thinking of Huff Estates. They have a nice art gallery and outdoor sculpture garden attached.

Nice patio restaurant as well. Their tasting room is quite nice as well.

Stanners vineyard has a black lab that leads you to the tasting room but never heard of a winery with fluffy chickens.

There are some chickens out back of Hinterland/County Road Beer Company. Hinterland makes traditional sparkling wine in the Champagne style, and is worth a visit.

Thanks Harcon. Looks like Huff will be on the list.

Nick B - I will have to check out Hinterland. It was not on my list but I definitely like sparkling wine!

Hinterland is phenomenal. The bar behind it at County Road is also lovely. Great place for snacks and to try some good beer.

Found the chickens - it's Kinsip: "Join us to tour the distillery... and linger at the farm with it's heritage hops barn and funky chickens"
