Palani & Madurai Temples visit

Hi,

We are planning to go Palani in last week of March/ First week of April this year. Our idea is to stay in Madurai for 2 days (Saturday & Sunday) and cover Palani Murugan Temple and Meenakshi Amma temple. One of our friends suggested to cover Pazhamudircholai Murugan Temple, Thiruparankunram Murugan Temple also as they are close to Madurai.

We will come from Hyderabad and would reach Madurai by 12 PM on Saturday and leave Madurai next day around 3PM.

Please let me know whether we can cover all the above temples as per our plan without any hurry?

Please suggest

Regards,

Sai Uday Akella

hi Sai Uday Akella

Temples in Madurai will be closed between 12 noon to 4 pm, so you cannot cover them all

As you arrive after lunch cover either Thiruparankunram 8 km or Pazhamudhircholai 20 km both in different direction

And back to Meenakshri Amman temple around 7 pm halt in Madurai

Next day also you cannot cover Palani from Madurai and back to catch train by 3 pm

you have not specified whether you want to catch train at 3 pm sunday or you leave by taxi or flight

Palani will be closer from Dindigul.. You may try to Reach Dindigul first and then Complete Palani Temple visit. After that you can reach Madurai for overnight halt. Next Day early Morning try covering Meenakshi Temple and then either of Pazhamuthircholai or Tiruparamkundram. My suggestion would be you visit Pazhamuthirxholai, as then u can also visit Alagar Koil which is the same vicinity.

Hi

If you want to do darshan at all the places....check this out

If you are arriving Madurai by Flight at 12 Noon...Take a Cab go straight to Palani and do the Swami Darshan and back to Madurai and checkin your hotel for overnight stay.

Sunday Morning

Wakeup at 4 Am got to Meenakshi Amman Temple for Darshan at 5AM and you will come out of the Temple around 7AM. Then take a Cab go to Pazhamudircholai and then to Thiruparakundram and back to your Hotel by around 12 Noon.

Take some rest and Catch your Train or Flight at 3PM. If you are Travelling by Flight you can still reach your Airport on time being a Sunday....

Please, who can help with the Thaipusam festival program 2016 in Palani (Tamil Nadu). I have read that Thai Pusam is on the 24 January, and the Festival is 10 day long, and the most important days are the 6th and 7th day. My question is, on which day (Date) does the Festival start In 2016?

I don’t have time to stay for all 10 days, only 5. Any recommendation for the 5 days to Choose? Please help.

Regards

Svend
