If a beach is your priority then Mellieha may be the place for you.

The bay there is the largest and safest beach in Malta .

There are a couple of hotels right near the beach and several more about a mile away in the actual village of Mellieha .

Plenty of restaurants and bars also.

Valletta is over an hour away by bus but the ferry to Gozo is only about 10 minutes ride away,

The sea is still warm in October but always best to have a plan B as the weather starts to be a bit unpredictable. The challenge with any Malta holiday is the fact that the beaches in the main are away from the main resorts. Invariably you need to travel to them.

Mellieha could provide a relaxing break with the odd day out, including nearby Gozo.
