Campervan vs car+hostel

Hello! My husband and I where thinking on travelling from Brisbane to Sydney this month (around 9 days). As it is the end of our trip we are kind of in a tight schedule so we wanted to know what option is the cheapest;

1. Rent a campervan, the small ones that don't include toilet but you can sleep and cook on them (not the cheapest one that will leave us stranded, but not the top one either)

2.Rent a normal cheap car and stop in hostels around the coast.

Anybody knows what should be cheaper?

Any tip helps! Also, would you recommend Jucy campervans?

Thanks!!!

I think you probably need to do some costings to get a handle on this.

I would personally choose a camper as its better than being stuck in some hostels. There are also cheaper motels- as its not quite school holidays yet you could be lucky.

With a camper though I would ditch it as soon as I got to the city as you dont need a car in Sydney or Brisbane centre,

Camp ground costs for a powered site if you need one can be about $50++

Petrol around $1.50 per litre

cheap motels around $150 per night- can be cheaper inland

Agree, if you have nine days then camper is a good option - you might even get away with unpowered sites if your bedding is warm enough.

Cheap motels do mean you don't have the freezing cold midnight loo run though.

Cheers
