Sydney for 3 days - Hotel Advice?

Traveling to Sydney and will have 3 days to take in the city (post cruise). Looking for a hotel that encompasses both location and luxury. It seems as though prime location would be the Circular Quay / Rocks. Any thoughts or suggestions would be great!

Yes agree Circular Quay is prime location. Luxury will depend on your budget limit. Park Hyatt already mentioned is prime, although fairly low rise. High level rooms/suites at the Shangri-la & Four Seasons would also be worth considering for the best views.

Have you considered the Quay Grand?

The Park sounds great, but a little steep per night. I was hoping to keep it under $500 a night. I have looked at the Quay Grand, but it seems more like an apartment. I think we might prefer more of a high rise hotel or one with some historic charm. Thanks again!

Yes Quay Grand is apartments, but very nice ones!

Check what's available at the Shang, FS, Intercontinental & Sir Stamford.

"I was hoping to keep it under $500 a night"

only goes to prove that one of the main criteria for accommodation questions on this forum is some indication of a budget.

Quay Grand is apartments but that is a good thing. Plenty of room, balconies to sit on outside to enjoy the views, great windows for the views if weather not so good, fully furnished, great kitchen (especially since Sydney is so expensive), private laundry facilities, great concierge service, great location.

For location, Quay Grand Suites is unmatched - a short stroll to the Opera House. View of the Harbour Bridge and quay. You can't see the OH from the balcony but who cares when you can walk there in 3 minutes?

Lots of nightlife.

It is arguably the most prestigious apartment block in the country.

Tripadvisor recently named it the best 'luxury hotel' in the South Pacific - as voted by travellers.

I agree with the previous poster.
