9D8N Family Trip to Perth - 1st time

jus book tix to perth on 1st week of June.

while planning, realised 4-Jun (Monday) is a public holiday in perth.

any idea Caversham park & shops/tourist spots at Swan Valley are open on PH?

my current plan:

DAY1 - touch down, hang around perth city (king's park / hay street/ market street), park avenue to stock up some food to cook at apartment

DAY2 - a day at fremantle

DAY3 - Rottnest Island

DAY4 - Caversham & Swan Valley

DAY5 - Drive down to MR and will stop at Bunbury

DAY6/7 - Hang around MR

DAY8 - Drive back to perth city in noon

DAY9 - Maybe visit Perth Zoo/Market before flying off in late afternoon

Caversham Park is usually open everyday, and all of the shops are usually open as well. It will more than likely be busy being a public holiday, but as it is so big there is plenty of room. Most shops in the Swan Valley will be open, but possibly on Public holiday hours of 11-5.

There is so much to do in the area that you will fill a day in easily there.

There’s a Woolworths Supermarket straight up St George’s Tce one street to the left from Mantra on Hay, about the same distance as Target. You’re in the free bus zone so you could either take the CAT bus there and back or any bus at all for no charge.

I notice that near Mantra on Hay, on the other side of Bennet St and the other side of the road is Wok and Ladle, an excellent (and inexpensive) Thai/Asian restaurant which I can unhesitatingly recommend. Don’t eat at the Asian place next door though, it’s OK but pretty average.
