Hello. Staying in Auckland for 2 nights. Would like to walk to restaurants, shopping and attractions if possible. We were recommended The Cordis or The Park Hyatt. Thoughts on these locations? Thank you

Yes to the Park Hyatt location and no to the Cordis location.
The new Park Hyatt occupies a wonderful location in the Wynyard Quarter. Restaurants, pedestrian access, harbour location and shopping at Commercial Bay.
Park Hyatt is the best choice. Very handy to everything and if you have time visit the New Zealand Maritime Museum. I think entry is free and it's very interesting.
The Cordis is way up the other end of the city.
Take a look at M Social. It is right on the harbor and close to Wynyard and Commercial Bay as well as the local ferries if you want to visit some of the islands.
Hilton Auckland is very convenient location on the harbor.
