Fajardo or Rincon

I am looking to go to PR this winter for 2 weeks with my husband. Debating between Fajardo area or Rincon area. Looking to enjoy the weather, relax and do some sight seeing. I am mid 40, husband early 60, with limited mobility ( prosthetic leg). Any suggestions or tips are welcome. Planning on renting a car. Even debating about one week in the one place, one in the other.

Do 1 week each. Both are good bases if you want to explore. If you do both, you get to explore the entire island and reduce your driving times.

I would suggest to stay Rincon and San Juan. There is not that much to do in Fajardo. San Juan has great Museums, Forts, lot's of shopping, great Restaurants, evening entertainment, Casinos

Mmm, that sounds like a good solution too. Sounds like 2 different vacations in one. Pretty cool. If I stay in San Juan I assume I would not need a car if I find a good location. What do you think?

You may need a car while in San Nuan for a couple of days, if you are planning on doing day trips to the bio bay in Fajardo and the kiosks in Luquillo. There are tours that will take you there, but will be more expensive than a day car rental.

If you stay in the heart of Isla Verde or Condado (both considered San Juan metro area) you will find car rental options within walking distance from your accommodations. No need to rent a car for the full week as you will find most things you need within walking distance. Isla Verde for me is best as it has by far the best beach.

Rent the car for the day trips out of SJ you will do. Otherwise, 1 week in SJ is too much.
