Venta Card

I’m trying to understand how this Works. Do you buy a card then it has the different length of stays on it or what do you do, I don’t mind riding the El at all just trying to figure out how you pay for this

You purchase the card and add transit value to it, either via passes or cash fares.

Have you looked at the CTA fare page (https://www.transitchicago.com/fares/) and Ventra websites (https://www.ventrachicago.com/how-to/).

Basically if you aren't paying cash (besides currency, Android Pay, Apple Pay, and Samsung pay, or any contactless bank card can be used), you need a Ventra card which you can get from machines at the stations. You either load dollar amounts onto the card (pay as you go) or buy a pass (1, 3 or 7 day...you don't need a 30 day pass). The pass is itself loaded on to the card.
