VRBO alternatives

Because of the new fees associated with VRBO and Homeaway, I am hoping that people will post some alternatives for condo searches, as they come across them.

We have two top questions for the rental agencies, south and west, but I am hoping that we can get a list started for other sites, specifically for condos, as people find them.

I'll start with Rosie's Rentals, for the Kihei Surfside.

Thank you!

Redweek Timeshare rentals. I have used them 3 times now, as long as the available dates jive with your vacation... you can get some very good rates, at very nice resorts!

I have the Westin Villas North booked for May. The rates are inclusive of all fee's, even tax and parking!

Worth a look!

A listing site that does charge traveler fees like VRBO or AirBnb...

All communication and agreements are directly with the owner (no rental pools or PMs) so you know precisely which unit you are renting.

http://www.mauiownercondos.com/.

They site specializes in South Maui, Maalea, North/Central/South Kihei, Wailea and Makena. Later it will be expanding into West Maui, but there is one listing today for Kaanapali.

They've been around as long as VRBO. They verify that every new listing is legal. They inspect all units, prior to adding it to their group, so the quality standard is pretty high and assured.

We have used Paradise Vip Management in the past and they were easy to deal with and also provided concierge services. However they do not have an extensive collection of condos but there is a variety of different complex options.

I can also recommend www.mauiownercondos.com We have not listed with them...yet. But I am pulling our listing off VRBO now that Expedia has *become* the middle-man VRBO was created to eliminate.

It would be helpful to note which of these have fees, as well as what those fees are.

Redweek (http://www.redweek.com), $14.99/year membership

TUG (http://www.tug2.net), free to contact owners

My Resort Network (http://www.myresortnetwork.com), free to contact owners

I've had great success with Redweek, both as a timeshare owner renting out units, and renting from other owners. The fact that you have to pay $14.99 for a year's membership to contact owners for the rental really weeds out a lot of... crud.
