First time to agadir, things to do animal shelters etc?

Hi there in a month or 2 I will hopefully be booking a week in June 2018 to agadir. Staying at the Royal mirage agadir for a week all inclusive, does anyone have any experience with the food, are there any plain options myself and our 3 year old are very fussy but for the price we will happily eat out too.

So far after a bit of research

I'm looking to visit Vallee des oiseaux

Atlantis park

The marina

Are there any animal shelters or charities I can visit in agadir. I'm a huge animal lover and help the strays and shelters whenever we go abroad, I've searched online but can't find much information.

Is there anything else that is a must see or do bare in mind we would have a newly turned 4 year old with us. He loves water and animals, so perhaps a boat trip or something? Can't seem to find much information on many trips.

Thanks Lucia

You might consider making contact with Michèle Augsburger who runs shelters for animals in Morocco and as far as I know has a base in Agadir:

I am assuming the 'Atlantis Park' you are referring to is Atlantica Parc (Water Park)?

Another idea for a day trip could be Croco Parc:

Hi

Personally I would avoid the Vallee des Oiseaux if you are an animal lover. Admittedly it's a while since we visited but I really wasn't happy with the conditions under which the birds/animals were kept. In particular the very sad ape (can't remember exactly what it was) kept in a small cage and taunted by visitors.

You should be able to find some boat trips listed under "things to do" on the right hand side of this forum but you'll need to make up your own mind as to whether your 4 year old would enjoy.

On the plus side Agadir beach is huge and generally clean. I imagine that your youngster will be happy to just spend time playing in the sand and "surf jumping".

Can't offer advice about food at your hotel (presumably you've studied the reviews?) but you will be able to find basic burgers/pizzas/chips etc. at outlets along the promenade.

Good luck with your research and have a great holiday.

Hi,

We visited the Crocodile Park last year. Its a nice place to spend an afternoon. The park is kept very clean and tidy. The Crocodiles appear to be well looked after, your guide is very informative and explains about the crocodiles, The park is set in well kept gardens, there is a childrens play area, and face painting for children. Also a nice cafe and a shop.

Enjoy
