Mumbai which area is the best for 2-3 days

First trip to Mumbai but fourth to India.

We are in our 60s now and looking for a comfortable area with nice shops and restaurants ..

We were back packers once and are over places like Paharganj in Delhi.been there done that.

Most short term tourists head for the South of Mumbai, (colours, fort, churchyard area)... plenty of hotels, and train stations at churchgate & cstm that link to the rest of Mumbai.

Yes.. from tourism perspective choose Colaba / Fort area in South Mumbai. There are plenty of hotels suiting various budgets and comfort levels.
