Currency exchange

Can someone please advise if it’s easy to exchange Indonesian rupiah in India, or would it be better to bring USD.

1. Re: Currency exchange

I personally found it a bit tough to exchange IDR here in Mumbai and Thane. Some centers did not accept IDR, others who accepted it, offered me a very poor rate. Best would be if you carry USD. It can be exchanged in any corner of India, that too at a good rate.

Good Luck

Indonesian rupiah in INR rate

1 Indonesian Rupiah = 0.0048 INR

so it is better to carry USD or converted to INR,

Hi,

USD / GBP / Euro are the currencies which are easily convertible in most part of the country.

Depends on where in the country. There will be quite a few places which will change it but they may not be the most 'professional.' You should know from past experience (of India) what I mean. Save the hassle and bring $$.

Thank you RR710. I was asking on behalf of an Indonesian friend. Whenever I was in India I brought AUD and USD, both of which were easy to exchange.

I will advise them that they would be best to bring USD.
