Prescription necessary for "ready-made" Chinese medicines?

Hi, is a prescription necessary to buy Chinese herbal medicines in pill and tablet form, like 銀翹 and 南板藍根片 in Taipei?

Thank you.

I'm not sure about the specific herbs you're referring to, but my experience of purchasing Chinese herbal medicine from local specialized stores is either you walk into the store and let the clerk know what you want, or you bring a prescription from the Chinese doctor and let the shop put the ingredients together for you.

You may just buy the raw ingredients or have the shop brew them for you (extra cost).

Unless they're over-the-counter drugs or supplements, purchase of specific pills and medications in Taiwan usually require prescriptions from doctors.
