You can take that amount in cash, if you wish.

But, check with your own immigration department as to what your current limits are for a currency declaration. You will still be able to take the cash, but you have to declare it to your customs if over whatever limit India has in force.

I think if I have more than 20k USD then I have to declare at customs. Thanks for your help.

Also, take note of anything on your landing card / VOA application that may require you to declare the amount of cash you're bringing with you.

Going into Thailand if you are carrying more than 20,000 USD you are required to declare it. There is also a requirement that people entering the Kingdom have funds to support them self. I travel in a Visa Waiver and never have been asked. They are a stricter on VOA. This should be 20,000 baht cash after you have paid for the VOA.

Note these amounts can be in any currency that is convertible in Thailand

Why would you want or need to carry US$15,000 with you? You may need to show 20,000 baht or equivalent.

Hi Joy

If you are travelling on an Indian passport, then your VOA will only give you 15 days in the country. There is no way that you’ll need that amount of money for that time.
