at Secon Square you will find few tourist's just a big shopping mall filled with locals.
street food is always nearby just about anywhere in Bangkok.
there is a park nearby but I would take a taxi to it, a little too far to walk from Seacon. it is well worth a visit I enjoyed a nice walk and looking at the botanical gardens.
There are more accessible shopping malls than Seacon Square, which is not much different to others apart from being in the sticks. What little you might save on prices you'll spend on taxi fares.
Union Mall is close to Phahonyothin MRT station and its opposite Central Ladprao (closed for 6 months); Fortune Town has the Rama 9 MRT station right outside; Robinson Ratchada is close to the Thailand Cultural Centre MRT; Central Rama 3 is on the BRT bus line (100 meters to the bus from Chongnonsi BTS); The Mall Thapra is a 15 minute taxi ride across the river; and Future Park Rangsit (huge and very "local") is a 35 minute van or bus ride from Victory Monument.
Almost anywhere is going to be cheaper than Siam.
But, do they have Yo Yo Land?!
Fashion island have those very very cool automatic toilets. Each one has a full on control panel; bum dryer, seat warmer, water pressure, bidet targeting etc. Well worth a visit just for that!!!
