Both of them are located in the old quarters. But Imperial is closer to Hoan Kiem Lake then the other one, lies at the end of the small coffee shop street. I prefer staying at Tirant as being easy to find it, near busy streets all the time also, 10 minutes to HK lake.

We just arrived in Hanoi few hours ago, was in Nga gu St, saw the Tirant.

Comments on the exterior so far, the hotel looked new, but looked rather quiet, as compared to the May de Ville just across the street, guess it may be the higher pricing.

One serious flaw though, the photos on the website on the facade of the hotel is fake, it must have been tampered with and stretched out, the actual hotel size is only about 1/3 that shown on the website.... what a let down and dishonest deed!

We have used Tirant recently and most of our clients have a great comment about its services as well as location. It's a 3 star plus hotel :)

Stayed at Tirrant in September, you won't go wrong. Relatively new, spotlessly clean, and professionally run, the management and staff will really look after you, less than 5 minutes walk to the lake - enjoy the Old Quarter buzz- I would definately go back.
