HI guys, afte rhours of reading through all the reviews, i am now even more undecided just more infomred.

Im looking for something that is not bottom of the range - but not necessarily boutique either... something round $30-$45 per night... any other recomendations? Have any of you stayed in the 3 mangoes? IM a solo femal etraveller and would like it to be in a safe location.

Thanks so much in advance

We loved the location of the Blue Lime, having stayed there early December.

Just be very careful around the pool and breakfast area, as we got badly bitten by mosquitos on our first day there and my daughter ended up in hospital with dengue fever. I did email them but never got a response. However, I did a positive review of the hotel on TA but mentioned the mosquito problem. They were quick to respond to my review, assuring guests that they'd instituted a spraying regime as they were aware of the problem.

Hi all, thank you so much for your helpful responses. Ok - so looks like Blue Lime it is.... Having said that - so many say its bets to stay on the riverfront?

What hotel can you recomend on the riverfront?

Thanks

Hello Melanie B

Many thanks for your kind words.

It's a pleasure to post on the TA Cambodia Forums and to occassionaly get positive feedback.

Thank you Melanie. Much appreciated.

Please be sure to drop in to Alexis's other hotels. They are all subtly different and slightly graduated to meet various budgets and tastes and needs.

I tried out his relatively new Botanico in Street 29 on my last trip in November 2012. Unfortunately, that evening was one of very heavy rain so I have not as yet got a complete feel for the place. But sitting in our "Tent" with the rain cascading down whilst I and my Khmer friends enjoyed a pre-dinner drink or two and a small pre-dinner nibble before going to the very nice Italian restaurant sort of diagonally across the road was a very pleasant experience.

As, indeed, was the Italian restaurant and a place i shall most certainly return to on my next trip.

Needless to say, the heavy vegetation (Botanico) was dripping wet but this is all part of living and experiencing the "Tropics".

Cambodia is my second home and has been for the past 20 years every year without exception.

But now I have a problem.

I know that I have to come to Cambodia in April but no one can, as yet, tell me the dates for the meetings in Battambang and elsewhere. The Khmers tend to leave these things to the last minute which makes travel planning and budgeting difficult. Also, the Khmer Artisan Project, qv Google, cranks up again at the end of March in Andong Rossey Village, Kampong Chhnang.

So I know I need to make bookings at the Blue Lime for at least my night of arrival and the night before departure and i know how popular it is and i fully understand the need to book early to have any chance of getting in to the place.

It's all a bit frustrating.

Best regards. Ian

A vote for the Blue Lime. Never stayed @ 3 Mangoes, have stayed @ Blue Lime in Feb 2012. Loved the hotel and the location.

Cheers
