Travel money

Hi

I haven't traveled (back packed ) for many years so I am out of date.

Could any one advise the best way to have travel money I used to always use travelers cheques and looking at the options seem most people use cards but there seems to be many disadvantages especially as some countries don't have the currency I want to use and when using several currencies the pre paid cards look to be a disadvantage. Are travelers cheques still widely accepted in Malaysia ? Borneo?

Thank you in advanced we are leaving in 2 weeks so need to get prepared.

I think travelers cheques are a thing of the past to be honest.

You likely have insufficient time to investigate card options.

Bring a mixture of cash and cards. The UK £ is exchangeable everywhere. Travellers cheques went out with the ark and I don’t know of anywhere here that still accepts them.
