Visiting Iran - Eid holidays Aug 2018

Hi all - we are hoping to see a bit of Iran during Aug. We (me and spouse) are Indian nationals, residents of UAE and happen to be 100% vegetarians. Will submit Visa Applications at the Iran Embassy in Dubai.

Questions:

1. Likely weather situation

2. Will it be a good idea for us to visit during this time?

3. Suggested plans for say 3 days.

4. Anything we need to take care of while visiting

5. Does an entry into Iran impact future travels to US, UK, EU or ANZ?

Maybe we will bring some handy foodstuff to be on the safe side.

Many thanks in advance for your kind inputs.

Hi

You might have difficulties with veg foods. there is not plenty of options. as you enter fully non-veg food history

1. Likely weather situation::: 30 +- Better google it

2. Will it be a good idea for us to visit during this time? Less crowded and hotter than other season

3. Suggested plans for say 3 days. ? focus on or max two cities. instead of spending your time on a roads

4. Anything we need to take care of while visiting::: just enjoy

5. Does an entry into Iran impact future travels to US, UK, EU or ANZ? USA might be !!! better ask embassies.

Hello,

Greeting from Shiraz!

Regarding your inquires I should inform you that not all Iranian restaurants serve the vegetarian meals yet. Most of big cities have some restaurants that serves vegetarian dishes. But of course you could find foods for vegetarians; you just need to know what to look for. First you could say no meat, I am vegetarian before you order so cook doesn’t spoil your dish with a few bones, broth, or small pieces of meat. You can find the name of some Iranian foods suits for vegetarians that you can find in the restaurants.

Kashk Bademjan / Falafel / Kotlet / Lubia polo / Adas Polo

In Aug the weather is hot so it is better to avoid of outdoor activities. Visiting museums and palaces are fine but some sites such as Persepolis in Shiraz, Kharanaq and Silence tower in Yazd are better to be visited early in the morning or in the late afternoon.

3 days is short for visiting not only Iran but also the main touristic cities like Isfahan, Shiraz or Yazd. But if take internal flight for transfers between cities you can manage your time.

Iran is one of world's most welcoming countries.Hope you enjoy your trip!

Warm regards,

Iran Travel Explorer Team

Thanks everyone for your kind response and guidance. We are a bit worried after hearing that USA entry could be a problem after an Iran entry in the passport....still checking.

For US entry you need to apply for the visa. They're going to ask you some questions about your Iran trip. Apart from the visa fee it's not going to be a huge problem.
