Splitting Time in Oman and Dubai

Hi All,

Planning a trip for the winter in Dubai and Oman, my husband and I are debating between 4 full days in Dubai and 3 full days in Oman or the reverse, 4 full days in Oman and 3 full days in Dubai. Any suggestions either way? I would like to get some beach time in and I figured that Oman may be a better place to stay beachside than Dubai. We plan on renting a car to explore Oman on our own time and we move fast when we travel just the two of us.Open to suggestions and thoughts.

Additionally, I am looking for a hotel in Oman, on the beach ideally for under 300 USD, can it be done? Any suggestions?

Crowned Plaza is closed now for renovations. Recent history of hotel renovations in Muscat means I wouldn’t be too trusting on the scheduled dates for reopening. If you want good beach facilities along with cheaper dining and drinking options, then Dubai is a much better bet than Oman.

Oops - sorry about that SS!

I’m sure it will be, but I certainly wouldn’t be making bookings for September / early October!

Their web site is accepting bookings from late September so hopefully they will not do a "Sheraton"
