Internet Device and Data Plan for Laptop & Cellphone

I will be staying in Hong Kong for half a year, and won't have wifi at the place i stay.

What internet connection device or data plan will you guys suggest for the following laptop and cellphone usage?

Laptop:

A lot of surfing online, lots of document downloads, checking email, facebook

Cellphone:

Lots of calls within Hong Kong, a lot of whatsapp or Line, email checks

Thanks a lot!

cell phone tethering with an unlimited prepaid data plan. Don't need separate devices unless you stream video and talk on the phone non-stop at the same time.

Discussion on data plan discussed numerous times on here.

Hi,

firstly, have to establish if your cellphone is unlocked.

If so or plan to have it unlocked, then as advised, one could use the cellphone to tether to your laptop vide USB or WiFi(personal hotspot).

If you feel that could drain your cellphone battery, then is to get a dongle either at your end,or when in HK, few celcos do sell dongle bundled with a broadband plan for your laptop.

Once you arrive into HK, whilst at the airport, you could pop in at CSL's 1010 shop (Departures Check-in Hall, Level 7) to find the right device and data plan .

All the best and have a great stay in Hong Kong.
