Wow. Fantastic news for those planning a trip.
I just had a dummy run and could not find the option to purchase Natural Disaster cover?
Greg, I have insurance with Insure&Go and it normally comes up at the end of the process, and very cheap. You can also start off using the tab at the top that says "we cover" - it's at the bottom of that - although I've never done it this way.
Yes it is at the end. Adds approx $14 to cover so gold cover plus natural disaster approx $74.
I wonder how long before other companies upgrade existing purchases after January 2018 or offer from now.
My main hope is that this means the threat is over and we (both tourists and locals) don’t need to give this another thought in the foreseeable future.
Fingers crossed NZ Insurance companies follow suit! Any updates greatly appreciated if anyone has insured through a NZ Insurance Company.
So I wonder if they cover retrospective if you booked a while ago but have Natural Disaster cover? Other Companies do.
I’d rather not have to cancel my current policy, only booked 2 nd June
Cheers Mac 😎😎
Am I covered for a mount agung volcano eruption in Bali?
As of 6th June 2018 at 7:30PM (AEST) we began covering travellers to Mount Agung as long you add Natural Disaster cover to your policy when you purchase it.
We have, in the past, excluded cover for claims arising from Mount Agung, even if Natural Disaster cover is added to your policy.
The exclusion dates were: between the 20th of September 8.20pm and the 31st of October 3.20pm and from the 22nd of November at 7.30am to the 6th June, at 7:30pm. All times are Australian Eastern Standard Time.
Ok! Awesome! Purchased insurance around 6 weeks ago for travel in September. Any idea how I go about changing cover?
Thanks for that CB!
Thank you, have been holding off insurance.
