Hi arriving in August from the Uk!

Is it best to bring Pound/sterling in and exchange whilst here or use cash machines?

Thanks

David

Hi David - ATMs can be a relatively expensive option as your lender will charge you a transaction and foreign exchange fee per withdrawal (check the small print of your account to discover what this is). Best in mind there are withdrawal limits from ATMs and this all adds up.

So cash is the better option, bring pounds and exchange in Bali. Make sure they're in good condition, no scribbles or tears and no Scottish notes.

Hi David,

Also your exact overall itinerary will determine where and when you can/should change money. Your exact hotel may have a bearing on this especially if you are (unfortunately ;-)) staying in Nusa Dua/Benoa.

See www.balibestrate.com for the current rate in Bali.

This rate will improve after Eid el Fitr.

Because of the many complaints about ATM machines and people getting skimmed with them, I suggest bringing pounds sterling. Bring only good condition notes, no tears or marks and no Scottish notes. And, use on the the reputable money changers that we are continually recommending on this site,
