Hi Glenn,

Good idea if you let people know where you are from. Easiest is to update your profile. Also your overall Bali itinerary is important if you want to know about transport/transfers.

Also why do you mention Visa control instead of passport control. Do you have or think you need a visa.

Generally just fill out the landing card/custom s form on the plane then just proceed to Passport control with everybody else. This can be busy or not. Then proceed to get your bags. Yes it can sometimes be slow. After you've got your bags you have to then queue up again as you leave baggage area as they collect customs declaration.

Then you pass little Dufry shop, Taxi cooperative desk/Info desk before coming to the main arrivals (throngs of people waiting. Some money changers and ATMs.

No ordinary taxis arecallowed to operate at arrivals.

You pass through immigration first, then head over to the baggage reclaim area afterwhich you pass through Customs/security check and then you exit the airport building.

The time it takes depends on the number of other flights that have arrived at the same time or just before you. You don't always have to wait ages for your baggage, it's not as bad as all that.

Once outside the airport building you'll see an airport taxi desk just outside. The rates are higher than if you were taking a taxi on the street, but for simplicity I usually just pay it. We hear some stories of travelers being ripped off so take a look at the below taxi fare guide before you arrive.
