Bali Ash Cloud

Hi All.

First time travelling to Bali with the family, or were planning to, haven't booked as yet but we were looking at going August/September this year. My question is, has anyone recently been able to get travel insurance that covers cancellations due to ash cloud? We cant afford to spend $1000's only to have your flights cancelled and not be covered.

If you scroll through recent forum posts, there are a couple of discussions advising that Insure and Go is now providing cover for Mt Agung.

BaileyBum is right..the majority arent covering at this point..the recent post on InsurenGo stated they were covering for a window period only and it is now over...you would be well advised to ring insurengo directly to verify if youre covered when taking out the additional natural disaster cover

And don't forget that Mt Agung has done very little in the last 50years. DPS airport has closed more often due to Mt Rinjani on Lombok.

Should your airline cancel their flights and reschedule for another day/ time they would usually take the loss and just make sure all their passengers get back home at no extra charge. That is the case with Qatar l am not sure if it applies to budget airlines.

As for accommodation, it’s cheap enough to just pay the bill for your extended holiday. 🤣😂
