Just do not take Grab from the airport. May I refer you to my experience with them (today’s post on forum). Others have replied with information that may be relevant to you. Hope this helps.
I read about your experience and will definitely avoid grab... i was wondering if there is a reliable pre paid booth or some other option... and thanks for sharing your experience...its definitely very helpful
The national-level and reliable taxi brand so far is 'BLUE BIRD'. Just wait at their queue line. Beside that you can contact your hotel to know if they provide free shuttle. In my two visits in Bali, the hotel also provide it freely, but you may contact them first before you landed.
There is an official Taxi cooperative at Arrivals. They have a desk just after the Dufry Shop before you get to the throngs of people. Official rate to Kuta IDR70/80k depending on location.
You could go up to departures and flag down a Bluebird doing a Dropoff.
Can't say how much you'll be charged but last month got a taxi from Grand Inna to Airport and cost IDR55k
Thankyou. Blue Bird sounds good...the hotel provides pick up at a cost but i was wondering if taking cab directly from the airport is better..especially since i have to apply for visa on arrival and i don't know how much time that will take.
Thankyou NotaPigsty... i'll keep this in mind :)
Blue Bird taxis are not, I repeat not, allowed to pick up at Arrivals at Ngurah Rai airport. You need to go to the transport ("taxi") desk. Or prearrange a driver to meet you. Or negotiate with a driver looking for business after exiting the airport. Or have your accommodation send a driver. We all require transport to our accommodation and this should be included in your budget for a holiday in Bali.Edited: 13 June 2018, 17:54
Blue bird taxi does pick up at departures and last couple of times have not minded doing the pick up.
