Cots / cribs for babies in Japan

Hi,

My wife, daughter and I are heading to Japan in just over a month, for two weeks.

We're thinking Tokyo for a few days, then Kyoto and Nara for three or four days, then somewhere near Mt Fuji (possibly Hakone) and then back to Tokyo for a few more days.

Could anybody advise us which mid-range hotels have cots for babies? We're finding that very few have.

We're looking to pay around £130 / $180 / 200,000 Yen a night.

Also, if anybody has any tips for where to find formula / purees for babies, that'd be very useful!

Thank you!

James

Drug stores and Bic Camera stores are good for baby food and supplies.

We are going with our baby next month and have confirmed cots with our hotels.

In Tokyo, we are staying at Keio Plaza so not exactly midrange. But they had cots. In Kyoto, we are staying at the Citadines and it should be under 200,000 yen. There are 2 Citadines in Tokyo and the one I wanted to stay in (Shinjunku Central) was full for my dates.

Both hotels confirmed the cots after I booked and confirmed baby is under 10/12 months old.

We are staying at Kawaguchiko in a Japanese style room and will not have a cot then as will have her on thr floor with us.

Good luck.

The Hotel Century Southern Tower in Shinjuku is very good and in a super convenient location and has cribs. http://en.southerntower.co.jp/

If it's out of your budget, then the The Shiba Park Hotel is quite good (although in a more quiet location) and has excellent facilities for babies for a hotel in its price range. …shibaparkhotel.com/services/family-support/

Note that most hotels only allow using cribs/cots for babies that are under 1 year old.

I am sure op means 20;000 yen per night, not 200,000 yen

Thanks all - very helpful!

Not sure Hakone is the right place for us - does anyone have any other suggestions for a couple of nights somewhere between Kyoto and Tokyo? Either that, or somewhere within a couple of hours of Tokyo.

And yes, Maple, definitely not 200,000 a night!

If not Hakone or Fuji five lakes - what kind of place are you looking for instead? For how many days?

I'd like to see somewhere quite traditional and rural, ideally not too far from the main line from Kyoto to Tokyo. The Kiso Valley looks beautiful, but I'm just not sure how practical it'd be with a baby...

I'm thinking two or three nights.

Any suggestions welcome!
