Which area to stay

Hello,

Going to Bohol for about 4-5 days.. What would be the best area to book a hotel in if you were doing tours to the Chocolate hills, river boat, ziplining, paddleboarding, waterfalls, caves, whale sharks. I'm looking for a 3-4 star resort and have seen a few I've liked on Agoda. The problem is that I don't know where to look in Bohol. Any help would be very appreciated.

Thank you

You can book a hotel in Alona beach (try Henan Resort) for your water activities. Then from there you can have your hotel arrange a tour so you can visit the other attractions you want to see.

I would also stay at Alona Beach.

Great, thank you! I will begin my hotel search in that area. I'm also trying to find a flight Bohol-Manila, that way I don't have to go to Cebu.

Thanks

You don't say you need beach.

I personally have no interest in beach and prefer to stay in tagbilaran City.

I nice resort in tagbilaran City is Bohol Tropics, check it on Agoda or elswhere.

Bohol Tropics is by the sea but not a beach resort. It has 3 swimming pools, disco free for guests, karaoke bar, private pier, jet ski hire, dive shops and the open air but under cover restaurant called Cafe Atanacio where they have live music at night. They have free transfers to and from the airport or the pier.

You can easily reach every where you need from Tagbilaran City.

So I guess there is more for us to do around tagbilaran City than in Alona? We're looking for a great hotel (anniversary trip-a couple in our late 30's) with an awesome pool or beach. We like to roam around, meet locals, try food joints, etc. No looking to be fully secluded. And, of course, to be able to do the tours as well.

Hi,

If you want to stay along the beach, try Hennan Resort.

If you want to stay in the city, try Bohol Tropics

---------------------------

Of course

Entertainment at Alona is a continuous row of restaurants and cafes. Some in resorts and some on the sand. Away from the beach are a few restaurants and Filipino carenderias.

Bohol Tropics in Tagbilaran City already has it's own built in entertainment with disco, karaoke bar, the Cafe Atanacio with live music at night, tennis court, 3 swimming pools, games room and children's playground. 20 minute walk into the centre of the city, or a short ride on a tricycle and there are a multitude of dining choices, several night spots, several large malls. The BQ mall has cinemas on the second to top level right by a cheap food court.

Tagbilaran City also has multiple banks with ATM machines, medical facilities, multiple stores selling cell phones, cell phone accessories, sim cards and cell phone load. There are multiple stores selling cheap DVD's. There is also the St Joseph's Cathedral.

Tagbilaran City is closer to the Chocolate Hills, Baclayon Church, the boats for the lunch cruise on Loboc River and all the other tourist sites in that area than Alona Beach. Tagbilaran City is also closer to most if not all the waterfalls on Bohol than Alona beach.

Just booked at the Ocean Suites Bohol Boutique Hotel.. Seems to have nice views, which is great! I also heard of the Bee Farm hotel so will be making a stop there for massage, meals and ice cream. We care to get massages daily and if we find a spa that does facials too.. Then we'd be heading that way as well! Good to know that the area is closer to our points of interest (chocolate hills, falls, etc.). Thank you!

Alona Beach, Panglao Island is an 'unofficial' taxi trip of about half an hour from either Tagbilaran's port or airport: expect to pay P500 one way.

The asiatravel website has a good range and offers a five per cent off rewards program, and also has a local office in Makati, Metro Manila - unlike Agoda.

Actually, after reading a lot of reviews last night about the Boutique hotel. We decided to cancel and book at The Tropics Resort as suggested. I guess the views and pool at the Boutique had me dreaming, but it isn't practical.

Thank you for your help.
