Ez-link for a family of six!

Aloha everyone!

My family of six comprised of 5 adults and my 4 yr old niece will be travelling to singapore for 4 days. Would you recommend that each of us would get our own ez-link cards? Thanks in advance for ur response! :)

If you plan to use MRT extensively - YES. Each traveler need a separate card to use, no chance to share as ex-link is a smart card ( tap on the in and on the way out). Children up to 0.9m in height and accompanied by a fare-paying commuter may travel free.

Alternatively...

standard value tickets may be purchased from the General Ticketing Machines(GTMs) located at all MRT stations.

The card won't let the second person through the barriers until it had been tapped the exit s station and the appropiate fee deducted first. Similay, it won't let you out of a station unless it has been used to enter one, without charging the maximum fare.
