Hi,

Yes, Indian passport holders need visas to enter Singapore.

www.ica.gov.sg/page.aspx?pageid=96

Please note that there is no VOA. Visa must be arranged in advance of your travel or you risk being denied boarding at your point of origin.

Hope this helps.

Indian nationals require a visa, or qualify for the Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF), in order to visit Singapore. The conditions of the VFTF is found in the link Nancy has shared.

If your flights are booked separately, you'll definitely need a visa or qualify for VFTF before the airline would even allow you to board the flight to Singapore.

There is no visa on arrival in Singapore. If you require a visa, you'll have to apply for one in advance of your trip.

Where are you flying from? Which airlines are you flying with?

In general for Indian passport holders

Yes, Indian passport holders require a visa to enter Singapore.

No there is no transit visa.

No there is no visa on arrival.

Yes you must apply for a standard visit visa in advance of travel if you need to get a visa.

This is done by going to the ICA website and following the instructions there if you can do a self application, or more likely you need to apply through a registered and authorised agent, again the ICA does hold lists of them in assorted places in India.

Don't use a local agent who merely passes the application on to a registered one unless you absolutely have to. There are lots of authorised agents around India and using a second middle man just separates you from the process by another level and adds another person's costs. Rough costs etc can easily be found - if you had run a search on the forum then you would have found the many such threads on this question and several contain comments from Indian passport holders who have visited citing prices.

You do not provide a number of relevant details, however, to be 100% sure of the visa requirements. This include who you are flying with and far more importantly to where.

There is a partial exception to the 'Indians need visas' rule that allows a visa free transit facility. There are serious limits - it is only for 96hr maximum, and you have to have a valid visa for one of only 8 countries (the most common for Indians visiting Singapore is doing it on the way to Australia which is one of the named nations). Finally. it is only useable in one direction of travel meaning that if you have a similar layover on both legs of the trip you might as well go for a multiple entry visa anyway as you will be applying for a visa for one leg and this gives the most flexibility and least reliance on airlines recognising the VFTF.

As you can see this exception is only useable by the minority so in the first instance assume you need a visa unless you can firmly settle that you do not.

subramanian s, hi

If you have Oz valid visa in your passport, you do not need to " apply for anything". Upon landing in Singapore just proceed to the immigration with your passport and onward tickets printed.

Note: you can use vftf facility only ONCE ( there or back again) and you have to meet other immigration requirements ( which seem to be met in your case).

OK you posted while I was writing. However you still did not provide all relevant information requested (we asked to try and help, not to be intrusive).

You presumably have an Australian visa and that means you can use a visa free entry. However, as I said this is valid in one direction of travel only, meaning any return journey might need a visa anyway....so you might as well apply for a visa anyway but you haven't provided information that might help suggest details there.

The VFTF is just limited but otherwise standard visa free entry to the country and doesn't cost.

As per above, you are eligible for vftf, but only one time - on the way there or back, not both. Vftf has limited stay validity - up to 96 hours.

We currently hold a Bridging Visa A for Australia and we also hold a Bridging Visa B to travel outside Australia which is valid from 10 th May 2017 to 10 th August 2017. My elder daughter has already visited Singapore with her aunt in 2012 with a valid visa. Is she still eligible for vftf .

The VFTF allows one visa-free entry on either the forward or return leg in a return journey. If your daughter has not used the VFTF to enter Singapore previously, she should be eligible for the VFTF.
