Using Indian forex card in Singapore

We will be going there next week for vacation and planning to buy a Visa forex card to pay at POS machines along with emergency local currency. Likewise in India

1. Does merchants in Singapore charge an additional amount (like a 2% of transaction amount) for making card payments (say for restaurants / shopping) in any situations.

2. Is paying by cash in Singapore has any advantages otherwise?

1) Most large shops in shopping centres, restaurants, super markets etc do not charge transaction fees. However, there are some smaller shops that do so and you should pay in cash in that instance.

2) Cash is accepted everywhere in Singapore. Credit cards aren't and if you take taxis, the transaction charge is 10%. Hawker centres and food courts also typically do not accept credit card payments so cash is the only option.
